some photos
In 1988 where Qld Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen was giving an exclusive interview to Andrew Carrol of Channel 7. Tony was there, moonlighting that year as a political commentator on Carrol's show.
Tony and mates Hedley Thomas and Paul Whittaker, at the Walkley Awards in Brisbane in 1999 where we each won a gong.
Tony in 1982 at send-off the Country Life newspaper to join The Courier Mail - present was a portable typewriter.
Having breakfast in the Simpson Desert, December 2007 on a fascinating story about a find of Aboriginal relics. Ranger Don Rowlands led the group.
Escorting young Courier Mail cadets on their first visit to a prison. This was an annual ritual. There is a very young Sean Parnell in the middle of the picture.
Tony at Cyclone Larry in Innisfail in 2004 - a woman falls and is badly hurt - MP Bob Katter on the right goes for the ambos.
Another at Cyclone Larry - Tony at the emergency food tent hooking into a sausage sandwich. Would not have hurt to miss a few looking at that profile.
Tony at the back on an inspection of Woodford prison detention unit in 1987. At the front is Prisons Minister Geoff Muntz who was later jailed for a year for corruption discovered at the Fitzgerald Inquiry.
In 1979 - Country Life reporters were expected to be able to shear a ram. It is much better being a journalist than a shearer.
At Archer River in Cape York in 1986 with then Main Roads Minister Russ Hinze - when we ran into a bearded Dennis Lillee taking a break from cricket.
